This year’s Serendipity festival to celebrate 175 years of Panaji

Panaji: With over 90 projects highlighting India’s rich traditions of music, art and culture the third edition of the Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF) will take place from December 15 to December 22 across 10 venues in Goa.
Besides transforming Panaji into a vibrant cultural space with multiple exhibitions, performances and immersive arts experiences, this edition will also feature special events to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Panaji, redefining heritage sites and architectural icons through creative and community focused projects.
The SAF programme will include 1,500 artistes and will showcase a series of special projects, including The Young Subcontinent curated by Riyas Komu, St+art curated by Hanif Qureishi, Out of Turn curated by Asia Art Archive and Meenakshi Thirukode and a film programme by Sabeena Gadihoke, among others.
This year’s festival curators include photography by Rahaab Allana and Ravi Agarwal, visual arts by Ranjit Hoskote and Subodh Gupta, culinary arts by Rahul Akerkar and Odette Mascarenhas, dance by Leela Samson and Ranjana Dave, theatre by Atul Kumar and Arundhati Nag, music by Aneesh Pradhan and Sneha Khanwalkar, craft by Annapurna Garimella and Rashmi Varma.
“The festival is a platform for under-represented and emerging artistes, and also presents the curatorial vision of some of our country's most esteemed cultural practitioners. We are honoured to present artistes, artisans, indigenous and folk art forms, performers and other creative practitioners on one stage,” Sunil Kant Munjal, founder, SAF, said.
In its previous two editions, the event attracted more than 4,00,000 visitors, and activated 1,300 artistes, SAF officials said.
