GURUGRAM: As the tally of Covid-19 patients goes up to 28 in Faridabad, the administration has declared 13 areas as containment zones. The movement of residents in containment zones is restricted strictly and all these areas will be sealed by the police.
The containment zones declared by the administration include Sector-3, Sector-11, Sector-16, Sector-37, Sector-28, Badkhal, Green Field Colony, AC Nagar, Fatehpur Taga, Khori, Chandpur Arua, Mohna and Ranhera.
These zones will be sanitised by the Faridabad municipal corporation.
The health department will launch door-to-door screening and thermal scanning of residents in each containment zone. Two buses have been pressed into service by the Haryana Roadways to ferry health teams constituted for door-to-door screening and thermal scanning from hospitals to containment zones and back.
“Sufficient number of teams for conducting door-to-door screening and thermal scanning will be deployed by the civil surgeon, Faridabad. Moreover, sanitisation drives will be carried out in all containment zones,” said a district administration official.
According to the containment plan, the families under quarantine will be delivered all essential commodities at their doorsteps. A list of vendors will be made available for every 200-300 households with the help of government officials. This will ensure minimum movement in containment areas. In urban areas, the MCF additional commissioner is the overall in-charge of this plan. In rural areas, the ADC of Faridabad is the in-charge.

Essential commodities such as milk, groceries, medicines and vegetables will be arranged and lists of all items will be prepared by HSAMB. Packets of all essential items will delivered at the door step.
The delivery personnel will have to wear protective gear and drop the packets at the door. No physical contact will be made during the delivery. Moreover, drinking water and power supply will be ensured to residents of each containment zone.
Of the 28 cases reported so far in Faridabad, 17 have links with Tablighi Jamaat (TJ). The district’s population, according to per the 2011 Census, is nearly 18 lakh.
Dr Rambhagat, deputy civil surgeon of Faridabad, said a total of 1,273 people in the district with recent foreign travel history are under surveillance. “Samples of 390 people had been sent, of which reports of 307 people have turned out to be negative,” he said.
