14 new Covid-19 cases, containment zone list in Faridabad revised

GURUGRAM: As many as 14 more people were tested positive for Covid-19 in Faridabad on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 275. With the increase in number of Covid cases, the district administration increased the number of containment zones from 41 to 59. Among those tested positive, there is a 25-year-old AC mechanic working with a Delhi-based company. He had visited many houses in Delhi during the past 15 days.
Moreover, a 35-year-old ANM worker and her three family members, including her 40-year-old husband, nine-month-old baby and 12-year-old son tested positive on Thursday.
Three employees of a pharma company were also tested positive. They are admitted to ESIC Medical College and Hospital. Out of these 14, nine are contacts of Covid patients. All three of them had visited Delhi for different purposes and one of them has vegetable market link too.
“Now, the number of Covid cases has increased to 276 in the district. We have also increased the number of containment zones to restrict movement of people in hotspots,” said a district administration official. The new areas added to the list of containment zones include tower C in Ibiza Town, Bhoor Colony, Mahavatpur and Nariala. The health department has sent 10,397 samples to laboratories so far for testing, out of which 9,572 turned out to be negative.
