HISAR: Recounting achievements of his government, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar urged people to vote the ruling BJP back to power for the second term.
Addressing a public meeting at Hansi during the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ on Wednesday, Khattar said Congress president Ashok Tanwar had claimed that he would resign if the flight takes off from Hisar airport. “Now as the air services have started from Hisar airport, people have started demanding his resignation, but I want to tell people that there is no need for it as Tanwar is about to resign himself in view of the current condition.”
The chief minister’s yatra started from the PWD rest house at Hisar at 9.30 am.
The yatra reached Hansi after passing through several areas.
Special preparations were made to welcome the chief minister at all places.
Khattar said, “2.5 crore people of the state are my family, for whose good I am working day and night. Today we have come again to seek the blessings of the people for the next five years.”
The chief minister said a new railway track is being constructed between Hansi and Rohtak, which will help Hisar people reach Delhi in just one-and-a-half hours.
He said the airport would not just benefit Hisar, but would also give a new momentum to development in several nearby districts.

Khattar said the government had started the Chief Minister Parivar Samriddhi Yojana under which Rs 6,000 would be sent every year to the bank accounts of all families with an income up to Rs 1.80 lakh. From this amount, premiums of the families concerned will be paid for various types of insurance, pension and other government schemes so that they do not get deprived of the benefits of the family plans due to non-payment of premiums, the CM added.
He said under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana, poor families have been provided free treatment facilities up to Rs 5 lakh per year.
Khattar said the government had decided to waive off interest and penalty on the loans of farmers. With this, lakhs of farmers of the state would get a benefit of Rs 5,000 crore, he added.
The CM said the state government had started preparing identity cards of each family in the state, which would have complete details of every member in the family. As soon as any member attained 60 years, his/her old age pension would start and according to the economic condition of the family, they would get benefits of the schemes set by the government, Khattar added.
