Cars collide on Gurgaon-Faridabad road, youth booked

Gurgaon: A play school co-ordinator, who is a resident of Delhi, was injured when her Creta was hit by a Maruti Swift on the Gurgaon-Faridabad road on Tuesday.
Usha, a resident of Delhi’s Vasant Kunj and co-ordinator of Brilliance School in Sector 49, claimed that there were four youths in the Swift car and they seemed intoxicated. She lodged a police complaint against the youths for negligent driving, leading to accident and injury.An FIR was filed at the DLF 1 police station.
The youth, who was in the driver’s seat, was also injured in the accident but was arrested after he received first aid. On Wednesday, he was produced in a city court which granted him bail. His companions, including two women, were initially taken to the police station but released later. All four are working with an event management company in Faridabad, according to police.
Usha told police that the accident happened around 7pm on Tuesday when she was returning home in her car, along with her driver Akshay. “My driver stopped the car at the DLF 5 red light. A Swift car came from behind and hit my car. I was injured but got down and saw two women and two men in the Swift car. They seemed intoxicated. Then I called police,” she said. Cops reached the spot and took the four to the DLF 1 police station. Usha was rushed to Paras Hospital.
One of the youths, Jitender Kumar, a resident of Delhi’s Prahladpur, was arrested after first aid. Blood samples were collected from him and his companions. The FIR against Kumar was filed under IPC sections 114 (abettor present when offence is committed), 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 427 (causing damage). “We have taken blood samples from all four for medical examination. The report, which will confirm whether they were intoxicated or not, is awaited. Our investigation is on,” said police spokesperson Subhash Boken.
Usha has refused to share any information with media.
