Haryana: 2 Chinese engineers, 1 Indian welder killed in boiler explosion in Mewat

GURUGRAM: Two Chinese engineers and an Indian welder died in boiler explosion at a pharma ingredient manufacturing company in Rojka Meo Industrial Area in Mewat district of Haryana on Sunday.
The boiler and oven of the company had developed some snag and Chinese engineers were here to fix the problem. On Sunday, two Chinese engineers along with an Indian welder were wielding the boiler when explosion took place.The impact of the explosion was so strong that all three died on the spot and company caught fire. The management of the company are on the run.
The deceased were identified as senior engineer Jhin Jhin Yang, production engineer Jhang Yang and Vicky Raput, an operator. Vicky, resident of Sohna in Gurugram, was working with the company for last two-years. Chinese engineers had arrived in India to fix the problem in boiler and oven of the company.
The incident took place at around 3.30pm when a boiler located in the open area exploded during wielding. “The welder and Chinese engineers who were standing close to the boiler died in the explosion. There was no major fire and it was brought under control. Three persons died due to explosion including wielder and two Chinese engineer who were standing close to the boiler,” said SP (Mewat) Sangeeta Kalia adding that they died on the spot.
Kalia said a case will be registered against the company and its management. “All the employees and its management are on the run and there is no one to present the document related to the boiler. It needs to be checked whether company has done regular inspection of the boiler or not,” said Kalia adding that police is trying to reach out to the company officials. She said it is not clear how many people were working at the factory at the time of incident as everyone has fled from the scene.
She said boiler was installed in the open area due to which damage was restricted to certain areas of the company and fire did not spread to the entire company. She said the details of Chinese engineers is not available yet as they have not been able to locate their passport. One of the engineers was a senior engineer while another was a production engineer.
The incident took place at Pusilin Biotechnology Pvt Ltd, a pharma ingredient manufacturing company, located on plot no. 281 in Rojka Meo Industrial Area on Sohna Alwar National Highway in Mewat district of Haryana.
