Hisar: Six of family murder woman over Rs 1.8 lakh

HISAR: Police have registered a case against a man, his wife, father, mother and two sons for allegedly murdering a woman by poisoning her over a money dipute on Friday night.
The case has been registered at Barwala in Hisar district. Murthy Devi (40) was a resident of Sandlana village in Hisar.
A police spokesperson said the murder case had been registered against Raja, wife Sheela, sons Pawan and Raman, father Chatra and mother after a complaint by Murthy's husband, Balwan Singh.
Balwan said Raja had taken Rs 1.8 lakh from him on the pretext of investing it in a cooperative scheme. However, when the time to repay the money came, the accused did not pay him, he alleged. Balwan alleged that Raja and his family had signed an agreement to give the money to him on Friday.
He alleged that Murthy went to Raja's house on Friday evening to collect the money, but they refused to give her money, beat her up, and forced her drink poison.
He alleged that the accused informed his nephew after giving Murthy poison. Though the nephew rushed Murthy to a private hospital she died during treatment.
