HISAR: Two persons accused of theft were killed in an accident and their accomplice was injured while they were fleeing the police in Hisar on Monday morning. The victims' family members refused to take their bodies after postmortem and demanded that a case be registered against cops who were chasing them.
The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep alias Paga (27), a resident of Vinod Nagar in Hisar, and Shera (26), a resident of Chaudharywas village of Hisar.
According to police, Kuldeep had around 40 cases of theft against him, out of which 30 were registered this month. Similarly, there are many criminal cases against Kuldeep's brother, police said.
Hisar City police station registered a case under sections 279 (rash driving), 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC against Kuldeep on the complaint of his accomplice Hrithik, a resident of Rishi Nagar of Hisar, who was injured in the incident.
In his police complaint, Hrithik said he was a labourer and was sleeping in a hut on Sunday, when Kuldeep and another person, later identified as Shera, came on a bike without any registration number plate around 9pm and told him to accompany them to commit a theft. He alleged that around 4am on Monday, Kuldeep and Shera entered a sanitary shop on Balsamand road after breaking its the lock with an iron rod. However, they had to flee as the shop owner, who was sleeping on the first floor, woke up on hearing the noise, he stated.
