Hisar: Naib tehsildar held for nasty posts on wife

HISAR: Sirsa police have arrested naib tehsildar of Hisar, Sankalp Kumar, for posting objectionable comments on Facebook against his wife and her relatives over not granting him divorce on Tuesday.
Sirsa women police station in-charge Aruna said the accused was arrested and produced in the court of chief judicial magistrate Babita Kumari who has sent him to judicial custody.
He has filed a bail application before the court, which will be heard on Wednesday. It is alleged that Sankalp is a live-in relationship with another woman and his divorce petition was rejected by the court in February along with a penalty of Rs 50,000. Following this, Sankalp shared objectionable posts about his wife on the social media.
Sirsa women police station had registered a case against him on August 14 on the complaint of Sankalp’s wife under sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act.
