Two more held for rape of 14-year-old from Meghalaya

GURUGRAM: Two more people, including a minor, were arrested for their alleged role in the gang rape of a 14-year-old minor girl from Meghalaya. The girl was lured to Gurugram with a job offer and repeatedly raped by several people at three different places — Chauma village and Sector 39 in Gurugram and at an unknown area — in Delhi for over three days.
The teen was rescued from Chauma village by two persons from Meghalaya on August 6.Following this, a case was registered.
According to police, Lokesh alias Lambu and his minor bother were arrested in connection with the case. Lokesh was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody while the minor boy was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and sent to a correction home in Faridabad. Lokesh was arrested from Bihar while his minor brother was arrested from Anand Vihar in Delhi.
“The minor arrested in connection with the case was the one who had lured the minor girl from Meghayala to Gurugram on pretext of helping her in getting a job,” said inspector Rajbala, station house officer, women’s police station.
According to police, the girl hails from East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya and the minor accused used live in the same neighbourhood. The accused convinced her to come with him and start a new life in Gurugram. The girl along with minor accused boarded a train on July 30 and reached Gurugram on August 2. After reaching Gurugram, the girl was taken to a house rented by Lokesh. The minor accused disappeared after handing over the girl to Lokesh, who runs a placement agency. From here, sexual exploitation of the girl begins.
On August 3, when the girl was alone at home, Lokesh molested the girl, and in the evening he took her to a house of his friend – Ritu — in Chauma village. On August 4, the girl was forced to drink liquor. Later, she was raped by Lokesh in Chauma. On the next day, she was taken to the placement agency’s office in Sector 39 by Ritu. The office belongs to a person identified as Bhupender. The girl was again forced to drink liquor and raped by Bhupender. Thereafter, Bhupender’s friend Om Prakash also reached the office and molested her. A case was registered against the five persons under sections 6 (penetrative sexual assault) and 8 (aggravated sexual assault) of POCSO Act and Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.
Earlier, police had arrested Bhupender and Om Prakash for sexually exploiting the girl while Ritu was arrested for criminal conspiracy. Now, with the arrest of two more accused, all five accused in the case have been arrested.
