38 examinees expelled in Hailakandi

Thirty eight examinees were expelled from the ongoing Sanskrit and Pali (Provasikha Madhyama and Sastri) examinations in Hailakandi district, an exam official said on Thursday.

SILCHAR: Thirty eight examinees were expelled from the ongoing Sanskrit and Pali (Provasikha Madhyama and Sastri) examinations in Hailakandi district, an exam official said on Thursday.
Inspector of schools (Hailakandi) Rajiv Kumar Jha, along with the supervising officer and examinations in-charge Debojit Dey caught 38 examinees resorting to unfair practices in three examination centres under Katlicherra block red-handed.
Among those expelled, 13 are from GC RB Memorial High School, 18 from Charlmarsh Higher Secondary School and seven from Katlicherra Girls' High School. Altogether 1,087 examinees are appearing in the exams.
Six mobile handsets seized inside the examination rooms were handed over to the Katlicherra police station and an investigation is on to find out whether the mobile handsets were used for unfair means.
In Silchar, five teachers, including two female teachers, who were appearing for diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed) were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting the monitoring and supervising officer at the Radhamadhav College examination centre. A police officer said the teachers were arrested after the officer lodged a complaint that the teachers assaulted her when she challenged them for resorting to unfair means in the examination.
