Development of Bodo areas on Ramdev agenda

A three-day-long free yoga treatment and meditation camp, starting from Tuesday, has been organized by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. As a part of the event,the BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary performed yoga along side Baba Ramdev on Wednesday morning in the presence of a huge gathering.

GUWAHATI: A three-day-long free yoga treatment and meditation camp, starting from Tuesday, has been organized by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. As a part of the event,the BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary performed yoga along side Baba Ramdev on Wednesday morning in the presence of a huge gathering.
Ramdev said the Patanjali yogpeeth has undertaken the responsibility to develop educational institutions and agricultural output in the BTC areas.

He further added that the yogpeeth has planned to setup higher education institutes in the BTC to ensure quality education for students, especially those from the rural parts under the council. “Education is an area of basic priority if we want to develop the society. Only with quality education can we develop Bodoland and India,” Ramdev said. “It has been decided to establish educational institutions in BTC areas to improve the educational scenario here. As a part of the project,the primary schools at Rowmari in Chirang district and Kumarikhata in Baksa district have already been established and classes will be starting soon,” he added.
Ramdev added that Patanjali Yogpeeth will give priority to agricultural activities in BTC region by encouraging complete organic products.Pointing out that big investors have always been afraid to set up industry in the region, he said Patanjali’s entry has decisively turned the tide.
Adding that justice and development should be delivered to all backward regions like the BTC, Ramdev underlined the huge potential for growth in the region.
“BTC region has plenty of resources of herbal plants and there are lots of potentialities for high agricultural output.It however lacks food processing plants which discourages the farmers. We will also take the eri silk from the BTC to the world market and make a special brand,”he said. Encouraged by the success of the dairy farm set up by the trust at Rowmari in Chirang district, Ramdev added that Patanjali has also decided to enlarge the gaushalas in remote areas of BTC
