GUWAHATI: The chief minister's special vigilance cell on Monday arrested six Public Distribution System (PDS) supply agents in Nagaon district on charges of corruption.
A case was registered with the special vigilance cell by one Gunakanta Bora and 21 other shareholders of Batradava Satra Samabai Samiti regarding misappropriating of flour meant for distribution among the locals. As per the FIR, an inquiry revealed pilferage of flour worth 11.64 crore from 2011 to 2017.

The six agents of the Batradava Satra Samabai Samiti were arrested for their alleged involvement in the scam. The role of the president and secretary of the Samity are also under the scanner.
