Guwahati: The Assam government is planning to construct a heliport near the
Kaziranga National Park to attract more visitors, the chief minister's office said on Sunday.
"He directed the forest minister along with water resources minister
Keshab Mahanta and agriculture minister Atul Bora to identify a suitable location for building a heliport near the park for increasing tourist flow," the official release from the CMO said.
The CM, while attending a function at
Kaziranga on Sunday, also directed three of his cabinet ministers to scout for land to build the proposed heliport near the national park .
The CMO release also added that
Sonowal has instructed the forest and environment minister
Pramila Rani Brahma to take necessary action for setting up a convention centre of international standard at Kaziranga as early as possible. PTI
