HYDERABAD: A couple reportedly lost around 15 tola
gold ornaments while travelling in an
AC two-tier coach of Bangalore Express in the early hours of Thursday. Later, they lodged a complaint with the
Kacheguda railway police.
D Revathi, a resident of Amberpet, was travelling along with her husband Satyanarayana from Bengaluru to Hyderabad aboard the Bangalore Express. “The victim put her handbag underneath her head and slept.
At 4am on Thursday, when she woke up to go to the washroom, she found a small purse inside her handbag missing,” DSP, Railway, Secunderabad, S Rajendra Prasad said. “We suspect the theft took place between 1am and 3am. Usually in such cases, the accused book ticket at the last minute or pay a fine to get a seat so that they do not require to show
ID proof,” he added. Railway police have booked a theft case.
