HYDERABAD: Following the incident of Sai Sagar’s murder, allegedly committed by a history-sheeter near People’s Plaza few days ago, Hyderabad police are now planning to beef up
security at night on
Necklace Road. The police had already written letters to
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and South Central Railway (SCR) officials requesting for various measures including the blocking of certain unauthorised openings on wall along on the Necklace Road.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Saifabad Division), Ramgopalpet Inspector and Lake Police Inspector were assigned the take to review security arrangements on Necklace Road and give a report to senior officers about the measures to be taken.
As part of the security strengthening plan, Hyderabad police wanted to close openings, almost 10 in number, illegally created by the few locals. They broke the wall along the stretch between the entry of Necklace Road circle to
Sanjeevaiah Park. By using these entry points at night, miscreants commit offences and escape.
“We already have a dedicated patrolling system at Necklace Road and are in the process to further strengthen the police presence,’’ a senior officer in Hyderabad police told TOI.
