Hyderabad: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed senior officials to fast-track works on Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and make arrangements to provide irrigated water to farmers by next monsoon.
The chief minister, who held a review on the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district projects on Friday at Pragathi Bhavan, said half of the agriculture land in Mahbubnagar district would be covered once the ongoing projects are completed.
“Like the Kaleshwaram project,
Palamuru scheme should be completed by officials by working in three shifts every day and night. Water should be released from Palamuru by June next,” he said.
He instructed the officials to take up works on the reservoirs, pumphouses and canals simultaneously. KCR also asked senior officials to undertake periodic visits to the project site and expedite the works. tnn
