HYDERABAD: A contract driver of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) Disaster Response Force (DRF) caused security scare by intercepting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao's convoy at Gun Park on Tuesday morning. The youngster who wanted to request the Chief Minister for government job and double bedroom house, was whisked away by the security personnel and a case was registered against him.
The incident happened when the Chief Minister went to pay tributes at Martyr's Memorial in Gun Park on Telangana Formation Day.

The CM's convoy arrived at Gun Park at around 8.38 am and after paying tributes to martyrs, CM got into the vehicle to leave the place at around 8.45 am.
As the convoy was leaving , J Hanumanthu, a contract driver of GHMC's DRF, suddenly came in front of Chief Minister's vehicle from Assembly side. "Raising Jai Telangana slogans, Hanumanthu appealed to CM to help him before he was whisked away by Taskforce personnel," a police official said.
Saifabad police questioned Hanumanthu and found out that he was a native of Mallepally village in Devarakonda mandal of Nalgonda district. Hanumanthu lost his parents few years ago and moved to BN Reddy Nagar in LB Nagar to work as a driver. He failed to clear SI entrance exam twice and joined DRF as a contract driver, Central Zone DCP P Viswa Prasad said.
On Tuesday morning, Hanumanthu reported for duty at Begumpet and after taking permission from senior colleagues came on a bike to Assembly. He parked the bike near Nursery at Osmania Gate of the Assembly after informing the on duty cop that he was DRF worker. Hanumanthu then walked towards Gun Park and stood with a group of on duty GHMC workers, waiting for an opportunity to give a representation to CM. But, when he saw the CM getting into the vehicle, he darted across and sat in front of it. Driver of CM's vehicle applied a sudden brake and police whisked away Hanuanthu.
Mayor B Rammohan, MP J Santosh Kumar, Jubilee Hills MLA, M Gopinath, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and DGP M Mahendar Reddy attended the event. A case was registered against Hanumanthu under section 341 of the IPC.
