Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the district education officers (DEOs) of four districts for showing scant regard towards the orders of Andhra Pradesh administrative tribunal for displaying negligence in appointing teachers selected in 1998 selections, Justice P Naveen Rao of the high court on Friday launched
contempt proceedings against the four DEOs of Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda districts and directed them to appear before the court on September 5.
They were given form-1 notices under Contempt of Courts Act.
The judge said that the hopes of the successful aspirants who were selected as teachers two decades ago were dashed by negligent officials who failed to perform their duty.
