HYDERABAD: A daily wage worker M Shiva Kumar killed his grandmother M Antamma, 73, and her sister M Buchamma , 75, on Wednesday at Chengomul in a drunken state after they refused to give him their pension money.
According to Chengomul SI K Arun Kumar, Shiva went to Chengomul on Tuesday. "He consumed liquor and asked his parents and grandmothers who stay in adjacent houses for some money to purchase more liquor, but they refused.
When Antamma came out of her house to relieve herself, Shiva slit her throat with a sickle and she died on the spot. After a while, when Buchamma came there, Shiva slit her throat too," the SI said. Police registered a case against Shiva under Section 302 of the IPC and took him into custody.
In another case, a water tanker driver Mohamed Sharif, 28, was stabbed to death by one Mohammed and others at Mir Alam Tank. According to Kalapathar inspector K Kanakaiah, the accused attacked Sharif with knives during an argument.
