Malla Reddy quits Lok Sabha seat
HYDERABAD: Ch Malla Reddy, elected from Medchal assembly constituency, quit his Lok Sabha seat on Friday. He met Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan in Delhi and submitted his resignation to her.
“I will work for the overall development of the constituency as its MLA and help resolve all pending issues. My commitment is to make Medchal a role model among all constituencies in GHMC’s jurisdiction,” Malla Reddy told TOI.
Malla Reddy won the Medchal seat on TRS ticket with a huge margin of 87,990 votes against his Congress rival K Laxma Reddy.
He was elected as an MP from Malkajgiri on TDP ticket in 2014 polls, but joined TRS in 2016. He was the lone TDP MP from T. During his tenure, he submitted several representations to the ministry of defence (MoD) on reopening the civilian roads which were closed by the Local Military Authority in Secunderabad Cantonment.
