HYDERABAD: As many as six students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh figured in the top 100 list in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences results, declared on Wednesday night.
Two girls from Telangana — B Shivani Srivastava and Asra Qureshi — secured 13th and 80th rank in the other backward class category.
Having dreamt of being a doctor since Class IX, it was a dream come true for Qureshi and her family.
“I studied from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm every day. I was expecting a higher rank in the AIIMS exam. First, I shall pursue MBBS, and based on my interest, I shall decide on the specialisation,” said Asra Qureshi.

Asra now plans to seek admission in one of the top colleges in Delhi. “Although she secured 54th rank in Andhra Pradesh Eamcet and 64th rank in Telangana Eamcet, she plans to go to Delhi to pursue medicine,” said Zakir Qureshi, Asra’s father.
In the scheduled tribe category, Dinesh LK Naik of Nellore secured fourth rank, and Ramyaka Pardhini Mosya from Visakhapatnam secured 63rd rank. In scheduled caste category, Sanhitha Addala from Visakhapatnam secured 30th rank. In other backward class, Yenni Supriya from Visakhapatnam secured 73rd rank.

All the rankers are students of Narayana Group of Institutions, which attributed it’s newly-introduced n-Learn programme for students’ success in AIIMS exam. “Under this programme, Narayana students took 30-40 online exams as part of their preparation for the online exam pattern of AIIMS entrance,” said Sindhura Narayana, managing director of Narayana Group of Institutions.
The two Telugu states missed a chance to equal the record-breaking performance of 2018, when as many as 34 students secured ranks in top 100 in various categories. Last year, Sri Chaitanya Group of Educational Institutions had claimed 26 rankers and Narayana Group of Educational Institutions claimed eight rankers in the top 100.
