Sudden rain brings down temp by 5-6°C
HYDERABAD: Several parts of the city witnessed light showers on Thursday evening, which brought down the maximum temperature by five to six degree Celsius. Sudden showers were triggered by a depression in southwest Bay of Bengal.
Accroding to the Telangana State Development Planning Society areas such as Banjara Hills, Madhapur, Pashamylaram, BHEL Factory in Serilingampally, Kandi, Patancheruvu, Balanagar and Gachibowli located in and around Hyderabad received light to moderate rainfall.

It is very likely to move northwestwards towards Andhra Pradesh & adjoining north Tamilnadu coasts during next 72 hours,” read the report issued by IMD, Hyderabad.
Meteorologists also attribute the sudden showers to an upper air cyclonic circulation over north interior Karnataka & neighbourhood and a trough which runs from south Chhattisgarh across Telangana and Vidarbha. Meteorologists forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at a few places across Telangana on December 16 and December 17.
