Three con artists from West Bengal arrested

Cyber Crime sleuths of Hyderabad police have arrested three fraudsters from West Bengal for duping people by posing as bank employees.

Hyderabad: Cyber Crime sleuths of Hyderabad police have arrested three fraudsters from West Bengal for duping people by posing as bank employees.
The trio - Md Salamat Islam Sardar, Samir Hazra and Shankar Haldar from South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal - call up people posing as SBI employees and obtain debit card details on some pretext or the other.
Two victims approached Cyber Crime sleuths a few months ago stating that the gang had obtained their debit card details along with OTPs and siphoned off 75,000 and 1 lakh respectively.
Police registered a case based on the information provided by banks and e-commerce wallets, went to West Bengal recently.
Police team nabbed the accused from the their houses in West Bengal two days ago and brought them to Hyderabad on Monday on a prisoner transit (PT) warrant.
The accused confessed to police that they were working with inter-state fraudsters indulging in debit/credit card details theft by posing as bank officials. They also provide bank account details to other fraudsters to transfer the illegal amount. The accused were produced in court and sent in judicial remand.
