HYDERABAD: Former Congress MLA Jagga Reddy secured bail from a local court on Monday, after being jailed for nearly 15 days for the alleged involvement in a human trafficking case.
Market police said that Jagga was given conditional bail and he has to appear before the police once every week till November. He was also asked to give a surety of Rs 50,000. Addressing a press conference, he sought to ask CM KCR why no cases are being booked against TRS leaders despite being involved in many old cases.
He said that the CM is targeting him to intimidate him before the Assembly elections. “ I would give a befitting reply to KCR by winning the election from Sanga Reddy.” said Jagga.
Market police told the court that while Jagga was MLA in 2004, he came in contact with one Madhu, who was an agent. He wanted Reddy to help him in sending three persons to the US. “As per the agreement, Jagga Reddy took Rs 5 lakh each for trafficking the trio. He also submitted fabricated documents along with passport application forms at the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Secunderabad for obtaining passports for the trio, claiming them as his family members,’’ police submitted in the court.
