HYDERABAD: Rachakonda police on Thursday busted an international human trafficking racket involving a minor girl from Bangladesh and arrested three persons. Two of the accused are Bangladeshis.
After a recent tip off from an NGO about a minor girl trafficked from Bangladesh, Rachakonda police on Wednesday night raided a room near ECIL and arrested Md Sohail Hussain (29), a plywood worker and his wife Visti Hossan (25), a beautician, for running a brothel after trafficking a 17-year-old girl from Bangladesh.
Police also arrested a customer, K Hari Chowdary (28), a welder from Qutbullapur and rescued the girl.
During interrogation, Sohail confessed that he illegally migrated to India from Bangladesh about a decade ago and had married Visti, another illegal immigrant from Bangladesh, four years ago. The couple were residing in New Hafeezpet and met one Sigdhar who lured the 17-year-old in the name of love to follow him from Bangladesh to Bengaluru. The couple, along with Sigdhar and his friend Sujan, began operating a brothel with the girl in Bengaluru. Later, they sold the girl to one Vijaya of Vijayawada, whose son Sai and his friends forced her into prostitution in Vijayawada. However, Sohail recently bought the girl back from Vijaya and began running a brothel. “By posting advertisements on Locanto, Sohail and his wife used to contact customers. They used to rent rooms in the lodge and share the details with customers like Hari Chowdary,” Kushaiguda ACP K Shiva Kumar said. The accused will be produced before the court for judicial remand and the rescued girl was sent to rehabilitation home.
