HYDERABAD: The accused in the murder of nine persons in Warangal district revealed more gruesome details during his interrogation. It is learnt that Sanjay Kumar Yadav (24) allegedly confessed not only about murdering nine persons but also raping a minor girl repeatedly.
During his six-day custodial interrogation, Sanjay disclosed these details. Warangal police had now registered another criminal case against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
“Sanjay confessed that he raped the minor girl multiple times.
During the custodial interrogation he explained how he planned and executed the murders. After the completion of the court granted custody period he was sent back to judicial remand on Thursday evening,’’ sources in Warangal police told TOI.
Sanjay was allegedly in a live-in relationship with, Rafiqa, a mother of three children. He killed Rafiqa by pushing her off a moving train in AP when they were returning from West Bengal. To cover up his act he killed nine more persons, six of them were Rafiqa’s relatives.
Sources said that Sanjay initially planned to kill only two persons, Maqsood and his wife Nisha, Rafiqa’s aunt, but fearing that Rafiqa’s family would suspect him he decided to eliminate four other family members of Maqsood.
Police caught Sanjay as his phone number figured in the call records of Maqsood.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
