IMPHAL: Union minister of state for food processing industries Rameswar Teli on Thursday said that the Centre has approved in principle the setting up of a mega food park in Manipur.
Addressing the inaugural function of a one-day workshop on 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana' here, Teli said the park project will receive Rs 50 crore subsidies from the Centre.

Manipur textiles, commerce and industries minister Thongam Biswajit Singh urged entrepreneurs of the state to take advantage of the scheme. He said that entrepreneurs should not limit themselves to the valley districts and set up their ventures in the hill districts as well to help local residents find jobs.
A minute's silence was observed on the occasion as a mark of respect for former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj who passed away recently.
