IMPHAL: In recognition of her contribution towards promoting yoga in the country, a Manipuri woman has been honoured with the 'International Best Yoga Master Award-2018.'
Hailing from Imphal, Asem Jayanti Devi is currently serving as the head of yogic science and human consciousness department of MDS University, Ajmer. The award, comprising a citation and a memento, was given on the closing ceremony of the two-day 7th International Yoga Festival held in Smart Students' School, Pattaya, Thailand, on Sunday.
A large number of yoga lovers and practitioners of her home state have expressed happiness over her feat.

"I'm so happy with my echan (younger sister) bagging the prestigious award. Today, we will hold a small celebration for her achievement in our family," said Asem Bhaka, elder brother of Jayanti, on Monday.
