180 Indore-Mumbai flights set to be affected
Indore: Flying between Mumbai and mini-Mumbai might not be a smooth ride for a while following closure of cross-runways at Mumbai airport for repair work. Around 180 flights between Indore and Mumbai are likely to be affected. The repair work is scheduled to be carried out from February 7 to March 30, 2019.
Airlines have already started making rescheduling of flights scheduled to operate during the period.

Both runways of Mumbai airport will be closed between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the period.
The airport is expected to undertake re-carpeting and overlay work of the runway intersection.
“The proposed runway repair work at Mumbai airport is likely to affect flight movement between Indore and Mumbai. The airlines have already been informed about the same,” said airport officials.
They said that runways will be closed for five to six hours for at least 23 days. “From Indore, we have around eight departures to Mumbai every day, and the same number of flights comes from Mumbai,” they said.
“The airlines are making arrangement to reschedule flights during this period. People who have already made bookings would be provided with alternate arrangements,” they added.
Airport director Aryama Sanyal said that they are yet to receive a notice for proposed runway closure. “Closure of runways may affect flight movement on Indore-Mumbai route on certain days. We are in touch with airlines and authorities concerned for alternate arrangement to avoid any inconvenience to passengers,” she added.
