Revolution in technology has led to advancement in marketing making necessary for researchers and marketers to understands each other’s needs, said experts on concluding day of North American Society for Marketing Education in India (NASMEI) 2019 held at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore.

INDORE: Revolution in technology has led to advancement in marketing making necessary for researchers and marketers to understands each other’s needs, said experts on concluding day of North American Society for Marketing Education in India (NASMEI) 2019 held at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore.
The three-day NASMEI 2019 Summer Marketing and Information Systems Conference witnessed more than 300 paper presentations on 13 tracks and a panel discussion.

Professor Ashutosh Dixit, Monte Ahuja College of Business, Cleveland said, “We need to understand what is between the lines, both while marketing and doing research. As a marketer we need to figure out what our customers want and as a researcher we need to understand how our research would be fruitful to the target.”
Speakers at valedictory session shared insight on smart marketing, advance technology and its role in management among others.
Professor Sanjaya Singh Gaur, Sunway University Business School, Malaysia discussed artificial intelligence, 3D printing, augmented reality, block chain, Internet of Things and robotics with students and explained how technology has enhanced marketing and business.
Speaking on the topic ‘Presenting Analytics Results to Executives’ another speaker, professor Satish Nargundkar said, “We need to understand the gap between what we’re presenting or talking about and what our audience is interested in listening to.”
Nargundkar said for effective talks stick to the point, keep the bottom line first and use simple language in charts.
Professor Himanshu Rai, IIM Indore director said, “Researchers are curious how to differentiate between right and the wrong way of research. The easier way might be the incorrect one, but it is always alluring.”He added, “I believe that if you do anything and feel ashamed, scared or have confusion about it, never do it.”
