Aishwarya Rai Bachchan pays tribute to martyrs of Pulwama
Dressed in a pristine white and embellished ethnic outfit, the Fanney Khan actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan entered the auditorium of to a tumultuous round of applause, cheer and fervent flashes of camera. As soon as she got on the dais and cheerily announced 'Namaste and Good Afternoon Indore' the cheering only got louder. However, the excitement settled soon when the former Miss World, along with dignitaries like former ISRO chairman Madhavan Nair, State minister of higher education and sports Jitu Patwari and the management of the university lit candles and paid tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama attack that happened on Wednesday.
The actress observed a complete two minutes silence to pray for the souls of the slain jawans.
Following the tribute, Aishwarya revived the spirit of the audience by telling them how much she looks forward to her visits to Indore. "My visits have always been very prempoorvak. I have always been pampered here. I am deeply humbled by this gesture. I will always try to live up to the respect you all have provided me and will try that every visit becomes memorable."
