Body packed in polythene found on boat in Sirpur
INDORE: Body of a man packed in bedding and a polythene sheet was found on a boat at Sirpur lake in Chandan Nagar area on Sunday morning creating panic among locals.
Police suspect that the man was murdered. The body was spotted by Vinod Sardar, driver of an earthmover stationed by civic body, during cleaning drive at the lake. He informed Chandan Nagar police about it.
He told police that he found the body when he nudged the wooden boat.
The boat was broken and was caught in sludge by the lakeside.
Senior police officials and forensic experts reached the spot soon after receiving the information. They examined the crime scene and collected evidences.
Police said that the man seemed to be aged between 25-30 years. He had a tattoo on his hand and name Arjun Bharti was also tattooed on his hand.
Forensic experts claimed that the body seemed at least five-six days old and the man might have been thrashed to death. The body was sent for postmortem.
Police said that he was wearing a shirt and a pant and it bore the tag of SS tailors. They were trying to reach out the tailor to identify the deceased. His picture was also sent across the police stations for identification.
Police have registered a case.
