Calls made at CBSE helpline cross 500
Indore: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began their annual pre-examination psychological counselling from February 1. Phone calls on their helpline number from Class 10 and 12 students have surpassed 500.
“Daily 30-40 phone calls are made by students and even parents. Most students are worried about time management to score good marks, whereas parents are eager to know the ways to help their kids,” said CBSE helpline counsellor Jaydeb Kar.
The board has roped in 87 councellors comprising 65 from India, two special educators and 22 from foreign schools.
The board has also written letter to students appearing for board examination using striking keywords explaining them that these exams are not a measure of success or failure. They are meant to help students locate real possibilities and resources.
“You are unique. Pour your uniqueness into every aspect of your life including the way you prepare for and deal with exams. Face (your) books, insta your studies. Do your best. Stay sharp. You were born to be awesome, not perfect..” read the letter.
There are 18,27,472 students who will be appearing for Class 10 board examination, 12,87,359 for Class 12 boards. Most of them besides calling the helpline number have been seeking guidance from school teachers.
