INDORE: Sensitive polling booths in Indore and Ujjain divisions will be heavily guarded by combined units of state and central paramilitary forces on Sunday.
Mobile squads will monitor security at booths throughout the day. Of the total 11,082 polling booths in Indore division, which includes Alirajpur, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa and Khargone, around 1803 have been identified as critical and 217 as vulnerable, ADG Varun Kapoor told TOI.
“Over 46 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAFP) along with 18 companies of Special Armed Forces (SAF) have already taken up their designated positions,” Kapoor said adding that additional 14,000 policemen have been called in.

Of 7000 polling stations in Ujjain, 20% have been identified as critical. Thirty one companies of central paramilitary forces have been deployed in the division, IG Ujjain division Rakesh Gupta said.
“There are special groups deployed in every assembly constituency. Apart from static force, over 900 police mobiles will roam around in divisions to ensure free and fair polls,” the IG said.
