INDORE: Workers are true driving forces in any organisation and if they are happy, the organisation can scale great heights, newly appointed second time chairman and managing director of Air India
Ashwani Lohani said on Saturday.
Lohani was invited at the World Business and Economy Congress being hosted by
Sage University. It was his first public appearance after taking charge as
Air India CMD for second time .
He said a good leader is one who remains in touch with all his workers and works alongside them.
“People are scared to speak up on topic of corruption. But, it is extremely necessary to address this issue, which I did through seminars and conferences. It is only through these measures that I feel corruption in the field of hospitality and tourism has come down to a great extent,” Lohani said.
He shared success story of his brainchild- a flight operation from New Delhi to San Francisco- which was one of the longest flights of Air India. It was successful despite criticism and doubts.
The issue of recent terror attacks in Pulwama became centre of discussion on second day of the event as well when former ADG of BSF Pravas Kumar Mishra said that paramilitary forces like BSF, CISF, TTBP and SSB were not being managed properly. “Though there are lakhs of personnel, who serve in these paramilitary forces, they do not get same treatment as the Army and no one speaks of One Rank One Pension for these officers,” Mishra said.
Guests also spoke about importance of innovation in the age of digitization and
artificial intelligence. The second day ended with a santoor concert by Pt Shivkumar Sharma.
