HC seeks report on child trafficking

INDORE: Taking suo motu action into the case of child trafficking racket busted in Alirajpur, the high court’s Juvenile Justice Committee has sought a report on the incident from the district and sessions judge.
An inquiry committee has been formed in Alirajpur in its compliance. The committee will submit a report regarding the child trafficking incident reported in the district few days ago.
An additional district and sessions judge will conduct the probe in Alirajpur and the district legal aid services officer will also be a member of the committee.
The police continued their action of tracking down the forward and backward links of the arrested accused. Eight other people were arrested by the police and three more children were rescued by them in the days after the arrest of four persons.
The prime accused, Shailendra Rathore, who would sell children, He had sold a child to a person in Bagh, who was arrested by the police. Another child was sold to Nanpur area in Alirajpur from where another accused was arrested. The third place where a child was sold was in Vadodara from where two persons- Dilip Agrawal and Raju Agrawal -were arrested.
“We then inquired about the hospital from where Shailendra bought children and arrested Dr Raju and its manager Paresh. A sweeper of district hospital Anand and a tea stall operator Narendra Vani have also been arrested by the police,” Alirajpur SP Vipul Shrivastav said.
The hospital from where the illicit activities were taking place is in Chhota Udaipur district of Gujarat, close to the state border. The children who were sold have also been rescued by the police and sent to child care homes.
