INDORE: Enraged over not being given even a single ticket to the community members by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sangathan on Thursday declared that they would withdraw support from the party in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The community leaders claimed that they would withdraw support and make BJP realize their worth. The leaders also claimed that they had played a major role in rise of BJP and have led in many of the party’s political as well as non-political projects and schemes.
“Our community members had sought tickets from around 40 seats of Madhya Pradesh and around 50-60 seats from Rajasthan.
However, no ticket had been given from MP and only two tickets have been given from Rajasthan to community members, who have been ministers since a long time,” Pradeep Mittal, national chairman of Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sangathan said. The community has a population of around 2.5 lakh in Indore. However, the party denied supporting Congress or any other political party instead of BJP and also denied forming a new political party.
“We will support any independent candidate, who is from our community and has a strong hold in the area with a possibility to win. This will depend from constituency to constituency and it will only be cleared by us in next few days,” Ramesh Garg, national working president of the association said.
However, the community has no clear strategy for the areas, where neither BJP nor Congress has given ticket to community members and nor has the community found an independent candidate worth backing.
