INDORE: The daughter of peon and son of a driver at district court rewrote their fate against all odds to become judge to fulfil the dreams of their fathers, who wanted to see them at the top of where they have worked their lifetime as a Grade-IV staff.
Failure only made them more determined and stronger and the aspirants kept believing that ‘Apna time Ayega’ and finally cracked the Civil Judge Class-II examination with flying colours.
Now, their proud fathers can go to workplace with their heads held high and their success can inspire many to never give up. The boy, Chetan, son of driver Govardhan Bajad, cleared the exam on second attempt (Rank- 13 OBC) while the girl, Pramila, daughter of peon Munna Lal Rai cleared it on fourth attempt (Rank-22 OBC). Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission declared the results on Wednesday.
Pramila Rai, who did BA LLB from School of Law of DAVV, had reached interview stage last time but couldn’t qualify. But this year, she did it. Pramila not only credited her father but also two of her seniors in Indore district court, where she practiced as lawyer. She said, “My father once saw a dream and now I fulfilled it.”
"During four years of struggle, two of my senior advocates Girish Desai and Praveen Navelkar under whom I have practised law, motivated me a lot. This success was not possible without all of them,” said Pramila. One of her brothers also joined service in Narshingpur court recently.
Chetan Bajad scored 257.5 out of 450 while Pramila Rai scored 251. Chetan pursued BA-LLB from a private university in Indore. Chetan gives all credit for his success to his father, who dreamt of making one of his three sons a judge.
When both his elder brothers were unable to qualify, the whole family shifted their focus on Chetan. He lived up to their expectations on second attempt.
Chetan said, “My father is my role model, who guided and motivated me to become a judge. Both my elder brothers, who practice law in district and bench of MP high court in Indore, also played a major role.”
“When result was declared, my father was the happiest person because just a year before retirement, one of his sons fulfilled the dream of his life,” Chetan said.
