New lines to power Sanwer Road firms
Indore: Power tripping and voltage fluctuations are leading to hefty production losses by breaking chain of production and hampering quality, said an industry association.
Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) met discom officials following which the department is changing 50km old power lines at Sanwer Road industrial area.
Industrialists have been demanding a revamp in infrastructure at Sanwer Road industrial area to reduce power outage and voltage fluctuation.

They said frequent power fluctuations in industries adversely hurt industrial operations by breaking production chain and hitting quality of end products.
AIMP secretary Yogesh Mehta said, “Electricity department has agreed to change power lines as old as 40 years for 40 to 50 km. We expect work to get completed in a month.”
Industrialists said smooth power supply will boost production and aid in improving quality of product.
According to discom, most connections in industrial belts are 30 to 40 years old and require maintenance.
Subroto Roy, spokesperson, Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd said, “Most of the lines are very old in industrial belt. We are replacing old lines and wires and have plans to reduce loads from overloaded transformers and transformers for undisrupted supply of electricity.” TNN
