Three apps launched to ease poll work in Indore
Indore: This assembly polls, Indore district election office has introduced three apps to ease election works, help in increasing voting percentage and also keep tab on uses of social media platforms for election campaigning.
Election commissioner OP Rawat inaugurated mobile applications – Vote Indore Vote, Queue Management and Swachh Dhan Swachh Nirvachan applications designed by Rakesh Jain and edited by SVEEP in charge Neha Meena along with a coffee table book of SVEEP activities being carried out in Indore division.

Vote Indore Vote App
The app is designed to raise awareness and maximize voting in upcoming assembly elections, with the help of booth-level officials (BLOs), who will validate voters’ data, especially mobile number while going for voter slip distributions. To achieve high voter turnout, the app will send automated messages to voters one day prior to voting and on the day of voting. All the voters will be reminded to cast their vote.
On the day of voting, people who have already cast their vote will be sent thank you messages. The remaining voters will be again sent reminders to exercise their franchise every two hours till 5pm.
Queue management app
The app is a technological innovation to smoothly carry out election work by polling teams. It begins with facilitating material distribution to polling parties on the day before elections.
The mobile app generates randomized polling booth allocation to polling parties along with reserved parties for maintaining secrecy.

This randomization by software will be done based on norms set by Election Commission. The whole process is done for queue management of polling parties and hassle free material distribution.
At the venue of material distribution, attendance will be marked by scanning QR code of identity card of officials. This will mark attendance of polling party members and the app will display window number from where they have to collect the material. The bus number and route assigned to polling parties will be simultaneously finalized and intimated on the app.
This information will be given to polling party by a printed slip using wireless printer.
Swachh Dhan Swachh Nirvachan: It is an initiative to monitor digital election campaign of political parties and candidates.
According to officials, political parties and candidates resort to paid ads on various digital platforms like Facebook for promotion to reach out to as many public as possible.
A professional monitoring team will track and explore promotions done by political parties and candidates. If it finds any paid promotions without consent of concerned authorities, the team will report to Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), which will notify district election officer and collector about the same. They will cross check the data provided by MCMC and send report to income tax investigation wing. They will check it in detail and issue notice against suspects.
“The election commissioner was informed about the three applications by district election officer Nishant Warwade and he liked it. He assured that on success of the applications, they will be used in Lok Sabha polls,” ADM Nidhi Nivedita told TOI.
