INDORE: MG Road police on Sunday busted a gang of mobile thieves with the arrest of two members of it.
On February 2, police had received a complaint from one Deepak Suryawanshi that some unidentified persons had broken into his shop on Jail Road late night and made away with 37 mobile phones. The accused had also made away with some cash from the shop.
Investigation was initiated in the case by MG Road police.
After questioning several suspects and on the basis of CCTV footage of the area police arrested two accused Rajat (23) and Manish alias Golu (21), residents of Kumhar Mohalla. They were booked under relevant sections of the IPC. Officials said that they had received inputs from some informants in the case. During questioning, the accused admitted to have stolen 32 mobile phones worth Rs 3.5 lakh, police said. "We might get more information about the crimes committed by them. We are interrogating them for it," said MG Road police station in charge RK Chaturvedi adding that a team was sent to Vidisha to recover more stolen phones.
