ITANAGAR: In a landmark judgement, the Itanagar permanent bench of the Gauhati high court has invalidated the results of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (APPSCCE), 2017, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
The APPSC had conducted the preliminary examination of the APPSCCE on July 29 last year.
Disposing of a series of writ petitions filed by aggrieved candidates, the court on September 16 directed the APPSC to conduct a fresh preliminary examination within a period of two months by strictly following the rules and guidelines.

"The prelims conducted on July 29, 2018, the results of which were declared on August 2 and August 16, 2018, are hereby set aside. In view thereof, the mains conducted on November 10, 2018, also do not survive and stands set aside," reads the judgment given by HC judge Justice Nelson Sailo.
The order said, "The Commission shall allow all the candidates, who were earlier given admit cards, to appear for the prelims to be conducted. Admit cards already issued may be used by the candidates for participating in the prelims and if the same is no longer retained by the candidate, the Commission shall issue a fresh one on request."
