ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu, during a meeting with the commissioners and secretaries here on Tuesday, asked them to put in extra effort to accomplish all the tasks that have remained unfinished during the last two and a half years of his government in the state. The meeting was held to facilitate an interactive session with the top bureaucrats to translate the plans and ideas of the government into reality, a CMO communique stated.

Khandu said that since the party has got a huge mandate, the people's expectations from the government will naturally be very high. "When expectations are high, then our responsibility also becomes bigger," he said. "The good work of the government in its last tenure has been appreciated by the people of the state. Therefore, they have given us another chance to serve them," Khandu added.
Efficient law and order management, modernization of police and policing, strengthening of law enforcement, health and education, transparency in governance by curbing corruption and solving unemployment issue by generating employment avenues in government as well as private sectors are some of the areas of high priority for the government, the chief minister said. Ways and means should be worked out to tap the rich mineral resources of the state, Khandu further said, adding that forest produce, tourism, hydropower and agri and allied sector will remain the primary focus areas to generate revenue and employment.
Khandu further requested the senior officers to work on creating a congenial atmosphere for investments and to ensure that there is no law and order problem.
Reiterating that the government has decided to do away with the Special Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF) and the State Annual Development Agenda (SADA) from this year, the chief minister categorically directed the heads of departments to finish the budget exercise on a war footing. "Adopting a collective and coordinated approach will help us in overcoming the challenges," Khandu said.
He also asked the administrative reforms department to work on re-distribution of manpower and rationalize resources according to requirement.
