Security forces on Wednesday unearthed a huge cache of sophisticated weapons from Miao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

DIBRUGARH: Security forces on Wednesday unearthed a huge cache of sophisticated weapons from Miao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Sources said based on intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched in Miao Bum jungle area by 9th Rajputana Rifles and Arunachal police led by SDPO Miao Tasi Darang under the supervision of SP Changlang Mihin Gambo, which led to the seizure.
Despite incessant rain, the joint team reached deep inside the hill for several hours and finally managed to locate and unearth a huge cache of arms, which was hidden beneath a huge tree.

The recovered items include one Type 56 assault rifle, 3 magazines and 115 rounds of bullets (7.62mm), 1 UBGL (40mm), 1 hand grenade, 4 stick explosive powder gel (500gm), explosive gun powder (250 gm), cordex 1 metre, 1 detonator, one 1.22 pistol and 3 rounds of ammunition.
