JAIPUR: The enforcement wing of the
Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) demolished two multi-storey buildings around the airport area for violating
height permission.A team of about 50 personnel were deployed to demolish the building. JDA
SP Rahul Jain informed TOI that the two buildings were demolished. “These buildings were illegal. The owners had not reconstructed the buildings and they did not have permission for commercial activities either,” Jain said.
He added that height violation was also one reason.
The petitions filed by the owners of the buildings were earlier rejected by the court, following which some time was given to the builders and on Thursday the two buildings were demolished.
The officials informed TOI that a notice was also issued prior to demolishing the buildings. “The demolition was conducted as per rules and regulations. There were some violations regarding civic rules, especially related to the height of the building,” said the official, adding that there is a rule related to the height of the buildings in
airport vicinity.
