JAIPUR: The state remained under the grip of severe
heatwave conditions for the fourth consecutive day on Friday with majority of places witnessing maximum temperatures of above 44 degree Celsius.

Attributing the continued rise in the temperatures to northerly winds, Jaipur
Met office said that the absence of any weather systems, including upper air cyclonic circulation and western disturbances, the heatwave conditions will further aggravate in the western
Rajasthan.
However, the rest of the state may witness a minor respite.
In Jaipur, people woke up to the warmest morning of the season as the city recorded a minimum temperature of 33.1 degree Celsius. Since Thursday evening, the technicians of Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) were receiving phone calls on power failures that have continued till Friday morning.
“Excess load has been the reason for continued tripping. Whereever problems occurred, our team rushed and rectified it,” said an engineer of the JVVNL to TOI.
The continued rise in mercury has also increased the water crisis in the city. Many colonies are getting water supplied from tankers.
In the afternoon, a maximum temperature rose to 44.2 degree Celsius. Though cloudy conditions prevailed across the city, there was no rainfall. In the evening, the mobile phone apps providing weather details were showing a minimum temperature above 30 degree Celsius.
