Time and again, Bollywood has been a source of inspiration for small screen with popular shows bringing alive iconic scenes from hit movies. The latest one is when television actor Avinash Sachdev recreated an iconic Baahubali scene in the TV soap, Main Bhi Ardhangini. The scene where Prabhas (who plays Baahubali) lifts a giant Shivlinga from the ground to place it under a waterfall for his mother had mesmerised movie buffs.
The scene put in perspective Baahubali’s immense strength and love for his mother. But for Madhav (Avinash Sachdev) in Main Bhi Ardhangini, lifting the holy linga was part of a puja that will bring peace to the soul of his dead wife Chitra (Anjali Priya).

Talking about the iconic sequence and portraying it on small screen, Avinash says, “The scene was shot at a local temple in Jaipur. It was not about how heavy the Shivlinga was, but the conviction that it takes to portray such a powerful scene, be it in films or television. We took about eight-10 hours for this scene, and went for several takes. The best part was that the makers used the same background music as Baahubali for this scene, which made it stand out. I feel humbled and glad to have got an opportunity as a television actor to bring alive an iconic movie scene on the small screen. I am an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and I just concentrated on playing this scene with utmost conviction.”
