Clash between two groups leaves seven injured in Kota

KOTA: A 20-year-old youth, accused of eve-teasing and misbehaving with a local girl, attacked three persons with a sharp edged weapon during Holi celebrations on Thursday. It led to a violent clash between two groups of the same community leaving seven people injured in Amarpura village under Sultanpur police station of Kota district. Three of them are in critical condition and undergoing treatment at Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) hospital in Kota.
Police have lodged cases under various sections of IPC including 307.
“At least seven persons on Thursday noon sustained injuries in a clash that erupted between two groups of the same community in Amarpura village,” sub-inspector at Sultanpur police station Narayan Singh said. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, he said adding all the seven injured were on Thursday afternoon referred to MBS hospital in Kota where they are currently undergoing medical treatment.
The group clash was a result of the vengeance of one Rahul Meghwal, 20, a resident of Amarpura village, who was recently booked under section 354 of IPC for eve-teasing and misbehaving with a village girl belonging to the other group. Rahul attacked three persons of the other group on Thursday noon while they were passing through the village following which other members of both groups joined in.
On the report by both groups, police lodged cross cases under various sections of IPC.
