JAIPUR: HRD minister Prakash Javadekar accused Congress president Rahul Gandhi of spreading lies about the Rafale aircraft deal. Delivering speech at a conclave on higher education and human resource in Jaipur on Monday, Javadekar said that Congress allegations were born out of desperation as the party has been thrown out of power with no signs of coming back.
“Congress has failed to establish any corruption charge against the Modi government or any of the BJP leaders in the last four-and-a-half years.
The level of desperation is so high that they have devised a new strategy of attacking the government over Rafale deal in the last few months,” said Javadekar.
Sharpening his attack, he also told that somebody appears to be advising Rahul Gandhi to spread lies for 100 times and it will be believed as the gospel truth. “The reality is no matter you tell the lie for several times, the truth will remain truth,” said the minister to the media persons the sidelines of the conclave.
Javadekar didn't take any question from the media persons and his reaction on Rahul Gandhi came without any question asked.
He was quick to remind Congress of scams and corruption in the defence deals made during their tenure. “Congress has always initiated deals through mediators like Ottavio Quattrocchi in Bofors, Michelle in Helicopter and mediators in Submarine purchase. Whereas the BJP has omitted the role of mediators in its deals is paining the Congress,” said Javadekar.
Replaying to TOI while he was leaving the venue that has BJP denied the statement made by the former French president Francois Hollande that name of Reliance was proposed by the Modi government?, Javadekar said, “He (Hollande) refuted his own statement.”
